Women's Ministries

Ministry Focus

Valley Church Women's Ministries exists to equip and encourage women to:

  • LEARN (skill in godly living from God's Word)
  • LEAD (doing good works in the arena God has placed her)
  • LOVE (for her family, as in Titus 2:3-5)
  • LOOK (reaching out to those everywhere who are lost, Acts 1:8)

So that:

  • Women are changed into Christ likeness.
  • The family is strengthened.
  • Each woman knows she is valued by God.

Women Helping Women

Women Helping Women (WHW) is a ministry of women at Valley Church who have been called to become trained listeners for other women in the church who need a confidential place to talk about various problems. See our cards (86KB pdf) for more about this ministry.

The WHW women have learned and practiced the various listening skills for a year. This is not counseling, but a listening ministry. They are now ready to serve women in the congregation (or who have some affiliation with Valley Church) who may benefit from the encouragement of these listeners.

If you are a woman who might need or want this kind of support, you can call Marion Noble and be matched with a listener. The number of meetings may range from 2 to 12, but may be extended according to the need.

Women's Tennis Fellowship

A morning women's time of instruction, playing and encouraging. Skill levels from "really lousy" to "I'm okay", are welcome to join us on our new church tennis courts Tuesdays and Fridays 9-11am and Thursdays 7-9pm. For more information, contact the church office by phone. Note also the fourth annual Christmas Round Robin and Potluck, Sunday December 10, 3-7pm.

Sunday - Women of the Word Sunday School Class - 10:45-noon - Room 101 (in the Sanctuary)

A class for all women enriched by fellowship, learning from God's Word and prayer-time for each other. Do you ever feel discouraged or fearful? Don't let it control you. Join the Women of the Word to see how Scripture leads us to the Re-builder of broken walls and the Restorer in the paths we walk.

Women's Day of Praise & Prayer - 10:00-11:30am - Campus Library

On the second Friday of each month, women of the church come together in prayer and praise for the leaders, ministries and needs of Valley Church along with prayer for our community and nation. All women are welcome to join this prayer group, the focus of women's ministry.

The Women's Day of Prayer and Praise began 17 years ago as a day of prayer and fasting at the Valley Church. It has grown to many small prayer groups, including our Women's Prayer Chain. Please join us as we worship and bring our prayers and praise to our Heavenly Father.

Divorce Recovery Support Information

It is the desire of Valley Church to help women cope with the process and aftermath of divorce by directing them to divorce ministries, in their area, that will enable them to move from hurt to wholeness. For information on a support group in your area, contact the church office by phone.

Women's Service Ministries

Women's Prayer Chain

Women are invited to become a link in the Valley Church prayer chain and pray for needs that require immediate attention within the body of our church. This requires a period of commitment.

Wedding Committee

The Wedding Committee assists the bridal couple, on behalf of Valley Church, carrying out their wedding and reception plans. Volunteers are always welcome to our committee.

Women With A Mission - 10:30am-noon - Campus Center
